The DofE has given young people a sense of achievement and motivation to make the world a better place. If you have that as your aim in life, you won’t go wrong – you’ll do your best.

We are delighted to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at both Bronze and Silver levels at Whitecross.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a totally personal programme. Students might already be doing activities that can count towards their DofE award, or they might decide to undertake something completely new. Either way, students are guaranteed to meet new people, help others, develop their skills and, of course, have fun along the way. By developing practical and social skills and nurturing personal interests and talents, students boost their self-esteem and their CV. The DofE awards are highly recognised by universities, colleges and employers across the country.
The DofE programme offers students the challenge of organising, setting goals and undertaking activities in four different sections:
We work alongside students to help them organise, plan and record activities. The Bronze award is offered to students in Year 9; they will take part in an expedition practise weekend as well as an overnight expedition. The Silver award is for students in Year 10 and they will take part in a three day (two night) expedition.
