A Message From The Headteacher

I am incredibly proud to be Headteacher of Whitecross Hereford: High School and Specialist Sports College. The school has grown in numbers and success, particularly since we moved to our new site and buildings in June 2006.

Our most recent Ofsted Inspection in May 2013 graded all areas of the school’s work as ‘Good’ (against increasingly challenging criteria). I am particularly pleased that the inspection team recognised that our staff “create a positive learning environment for our students”; our “strong sense of ambition, which is shared by students and staff” and that our “students are reflective and courteous, enjoy attending school and feel safe”.

We are fortunate in having a dedicated staff who are passionate about ensuring all of our students make excellent progress regardless of their starting points and personal circumstances. Teachers and other adults in the classroom are reflective about their practice and engage enthusiastically in further professional development.

Our school ethos, built firmly on our values of Respect, Courage, Love, Trust, Perseverance and Equality; supported by our effective curriculum and extensive extra curricular provision; aims to develop open-minded, flexible, resilient individuals with the skills and attitudes to be successful in tomorrows society. I hope you gain a sense of our ethos from the information contained on our website. You are welcome to visit at any time, please make an appointment by contacting my PA: mpratt@whitecross.hereford.sch.uk .
